Dr. Rebecca Barnes, a 1992 graduate of The University of Houston College of Optometry, was born and raised in Mill Creek. After graduating from Mill Creek High School in 1985, she attended Oklahoma State University prior to entering optometry school in 1988.
She is board certified in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease including macular degeneration, cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetes. Dr. Barnes practices primary care optometry with an emphasis in contact lens fitting and laser vision correction. She is an active member of the Oklahoma Optometric Physicians Association and American Optometric Association. She enjoys giving back to her community through multiple community organizations and activities.
Dr. Barnes married her husband, Jon, in May of 1994 and they enjoy spending time with their two daughters. She is an avid runner and has completed a marathon and numerous half-marathons.
Dr. Elizabeth Cole grew up in Wilson, Oklahoma. After graduating Valedictorian of her high school class, she attended SOSU in Durant, Oklahoma. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry earning Summa Cum Laude Honors in 2000. Dr. Cole received her Doctorate of Optometry Degree from Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry in Tahlequah, Oklahoma in 2004. After graduation she joined the practice of Barnes Vision Clinic in Ardmore.
Dr. Cole has been a member of the American Optometric Association and the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians since 2000. Dr. Cole is also an affiliate of nJoy Vision. She provides pre-operative and post-operative care for LASIK, PRK and Keratoconus eye disease, including corneal crosslinking and Intacs. She is board certified in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease, including cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and dry eye syndrome.
Dr. Cole provides her optometric services to the community by participating in the Vision USA and InfantSEE programs. Dr. Cole and her husband, Preston, reside in Sulphur, OK and enjoy raising their two sons.
Heather has been with Barnes Vision Clinic since August 2005. Even though Heather started as the receptionist, she took over the Office Manager position in October 2014. In August 2023, she received her Certified Paraoptometric Assistant Certification. Heather’s duties include overseeing employee performance and general duties to keep the office running smoothly on a day to day basis. She regularly attends continuing education classes to stay current in her field. Heather also has experience in other areas of the office including contact lens instruction and optical.
Heather married her husband, Kye, in March 2005 and they enjoy spending time with their son, Jarek.
Maria joined Barnes Vision Clinic in July of 2024 as the Front Desk Coordinator. Her favorite part of the job is interacting with the patients and getting to know them.
Maria grew up in Dallas and moved to Oklahoma when she graduated from The University of North Texas at Dallas in 2018. Outside from work she enjoys reading, crafting and spending time with her son.
Lindsay started at Barnes Vision Clinic June 2022, as the office assistant. Her duties include assisting with the check in and check out process, as well as, performing OCT scans, visual field exams and teaching the instruction and care class for contact lenses. Her favorite part of the job is meeting new people. Outside of work she enjoys outdoor activities with her husband, Frank, such as fishing, camping, hiking and riding their motorcycle with friends.
Payton joined Barnes Vision Clinic in June of 2021. As a Doctor’s Assistant, her responsibilities include pretesting patients, making referrals, and assisting the doctors with giving the best care possible. During her free time, she enjoys watching “Keeping up with the Kardashians”, spending time with her significant other, and playing with her daughter, Willow.
Paula Bench joined Barnes Vision Clinic in May of 2023. She previously worked as a Pharmacy Technician/Manager for 18 years. Her responsibilities with Barnes Vision Clinic are pretesting patients, making referrals to specialists, and assisting the Doctors in patient care. Her favorite part of her job is interacting with the patients.
Paula has been married to Charles since 1980 and they have one son and daughter-in-law. She enjoys spending time with her family, singing in her church choir, and traveling to the Caribbean.
Betsie Tipton joined Barnes Vision Clinic in August 2024. As a Doctor’s Assistant she pretests patients, helps with scheduling referrals, and enjoys helping patients feel at home.
Betsie married her husband, Anthony, in October 2023. Both her and her husband are attending school for their bachelor degrees. In her free time, Betsie rescues animals, enjoys gardening, likes learning new things, and visiting family in Austin.
Allie Foster joined Barnes Vision Clinic in May of 2024. She previously worked as a project manager for 5 years. As an optician Allie helps patients with scheduling appointments, frame styling, checking in and out, and much more. Her favorite part about being an optician is frame styling and creating friendships with patients. During her free time she enjoys hanging out with her niece Brooks and Nephew Creek, playing coed softball, riding horses and telling jokes to her significant other, Sam.
Hailey Phillips joined the Barnes Vision Clinic team June of 2024 after moving to the area with her fiancé John and their sweet boy Logan. She has been an Optician going on four years. Her favorite part of the job is building relationships with our patients and making them feel right at home. As an Optician Hailey assist patients in finding a frame that best suits them and educates on lens products best fit for a patients needs and lifestyle. Hailey is definitely a homebody and enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends.
